Hello everyone. I am asking for your help with a very important mission. For those you don’t know, I am a mother. My name is Michelle Glick. I am the mother of three children. This story is about my second child, Matthew Liam Rupe. After a difficult pregnancy Matthew was born at 22 weeks gestation. He weighed 15.6 ounces and was 10 inches long. I had a blood clot in my uterus the whole time I was pregnant and the doctors didn’t know what to do. I was told to terminate the pregnancy. I didn’t even consider it. Matthew was born on March 19, 2004. He would be 4 years old soon. Prematurity is a growing problem. Every year 500,000 babies are born too soon. Many of these babies die or face lifelong health problems. I want to make sure that no family has to suffer the pain that me and my family endured and still do. What I can do is honor my sons memory and the memory of those who have passed on. I hope none of you have experienced this terrible tragedy. I also walk for the healthy babies in my life as can you. Every year, I walk in the March of Dimes Walk America. The logo has changed now to March for Babies but it is still the same mission. I am walking to raise money for research, advocacy and medical advances so that all babies will have a chance to grow up healthy and happy. I have a website set up to raise funds for my team. The link is www.marchforbabies.org/momtoanangelboy. There is a picture of my son on the site. Please help and be thankful for the healthy baby in your life. It could even be you! Thank you everyone. God bless,
Michelle Glick
